This is the farm shop you hope exists near every holiday cottage but rarely does. Everything here is grown, reared or made on the farm itself, and you can taste the difference the moment you get it home. Twenty minutes from Well Cottage, and worth every one of them.
Wykham Park is a working farm on the edge of Banbury, and the shop reflects that honestly. The fruit and veg come from their own fields (the tomatoes in summer are exceptional), the butchery counter runs the length of the back wall, and the cheese selection is quietly one of the best in the area. There's no pretence here, no lifestyle branding. Just very good produce sold by the people who grew it.
What keeps us coming back, though, is the kitchen. Their pies are properly made, the sausage rolls have a following for good reason, and the ready meals are the sort of thing you'd be happy to serve guests without mentioning you didn't cook them yourself. If you're settling in for a quiet evening at the cottage and want something excellent without the effort, this is your first stop.
