You've almost certainly seen the show. The farm shop that started as a lockdown side project on Jeremy Clarkson's doorstep is just down the road in Chadlington, and it's become one of those places every guest asks about. Go midweek if you can; the weekend queue is part of the experience, but patience helps.
The shop itself is small, deliberately so, perched at the edge of a working farm on the Chadlington road. Inside you'll find Diddly Squat's own produce (the mushroom ketchup is surprisingly good), Hawkstone lager and cider, jars of honey, candles, and the inevitable Clarkson's Farm merchandise. It's part farm shop, part pilgrimage site, and the atmosphere is always good-natured, even when the car park is heaving.
From Well Cottage it's roughly ten minutes by car, heading through Great Tew and south toward Chadlington. We'd suggest going on a weekday morning if you want a relaxed browse. At weekends, especially in summer, the queue can stretch well back from the door. That said, it moves quickly, and there's something quite entertaining about standing in a field in the Cotswolds waiting to buy a tin of Hawkstone. Pick up a few bottles for the cottage; they're best enjoyed cold in the garden after a long walk.
“Grab a few Hawkstones and some of the mushroom ketchup. The queue is half the fun, honestly.”
All of this on the doorstep, and your own thatched cottage to come home to. Sleeps seven, less than a mile from Soho Farmhouse.
