Rolling Cotswold countryside around Ledwell

The Area

Soho Farmhouse, the great pubs, the palaces and gardens — the Cotswolds from your doorstep.

Beyond the gate

A corner of the Cotswolds worth lingering in

Soho Farmhouse is less than a mile away — but it is only the beginning. Here is where we'd send you for long lunches, big days out and slow village mornings.

This corner of north Oxfordshire is quieter than the Cotswold honeypots further south. The lanes are emptier, the pubs less crowded, and the countryside between Ledwell and Chipping Norton has a quality to it that takes a day or two to tune into. Once it does, you'll find yourself slowing down without meaning to.

Our own order of priority: the Falkland Arms first, five minutes down the lane. Then the Kingham Plough or The Wild Rabbit when you want dinner to feel like something. Daylesford on a Saturday morning. Oxford when you want to remember how old England is. Blenheim on a clear day, when Capability Brown's parkland is at its best.
