Well Cottage sits in Ledwell, a tiny hamlet in the fields between Great Tew and Chipping Norton — close enough that “Chippy” is your natural town for a supermarket run, a night at the theatre or a Wednesday-market wander, but far enough that all you hear at the cottage is birdsong. It's about ten miles and twenty minutes by car. The cottage itself is a Grade II-listed thatched house that sleeps seven across four bedrooms, with two inglenook fireplaces, a walled garden and an Aga kitchen, and it's less than a mile from Soho Farmhouse.
Chipping Norton is a proper working market town rather than a chocolate-box one, and better for it: independent shops and delis, the well-loved Theatre Chipping Norton, good pubs, the landmark Bliss Tweed Mill on the edge of town and a Wednesday street market that has run for centuries.
