All the essentials, and then some

Well Cottage comes fully equipped for a week-long stay with a group of seven. Bed linen and towels are provided, the kitchen is stocked with everything you'd need for long dinners in, and the garden is yours all hours.

A few things worth knowing about before you arrive. The Aga takes twenty minutes to get to know, but once you do it becomes the heart of the kitchen. There's a library of over a thousand books, which sounds like a lot until you're three days in and glad of the choice. Two inglenook fires: the one in the sitting room is best in the evenings with a bottle of red; the one in the dining room is where Sunday mornings tend to happen. The walled garden is private enough to forget you're in a village.
